Writer's Discussion / Music to write to
« on: September 17, 2011, 11:31:52 am »
When writing I find that certain types of music help me get into the flow. One of the things I'm doing involves having a werewolf slowly moving through a forest, casually following a scent.
Whilst trolling through You Tube I came across this, quite by accident. Many songs are very atmospheric, I highly recommend her music.
The first one I listened to is ' etno jenny ' by Mari Boine.

YARN - (a sequel?)...........(A good yarn never gets old.)

EXT. LOOKING AT THE HOUSE - DAY

Looking to the house from YARN.
The red car from POO is in the driveway.

As that scene fades out, the next scene fades in.

EXT. NEAR THE DOORSTEP - DAY

Husband and wife at the door, (the actors from YARN). The actor from MARRIED TO THE SEA is standing next to them.
(He is her brother).

The wife is holding an anniversary card.

EXT. THE ANNIVERSARY CARD, FRONT - DAY

SHOW the picture on the front of the card.
The front of the card reads, Happy 21st Anniversary.
Husband, wife and her brother stand closer together.

(They are looking at the card.)

EXT. THE ANNIVERSARY CARD, INTERIOR - DAY

SHOW the inside of the card. it reads:

“May this day be as good to you, as the others have.”
The card is signed, from your loving brother.

EXT. WALKING FROM THE HOUSE - DAY

Their 20 year old children walk from the house to them.
They each hug each other.

                     WIFE
             Give this your grandmother.

She holds a photograph of the five of them.

                                               page 2
                    HUSBAND
             Give her our love.

EXT. GETTING INTO THE CAR

Their children go towards the car. They open the car doors and get in.
On the back seat are the two ball of yarn.

They drive along the road, away from the house.

The couple and her brother stand at the roadside by the house, they wave (to them).

EXT. ROAD JUNCTION (S)  - DAY

The car at some road junctions.
The last junction, a show sign that reads TO THE BEACH.

EXT. ON THE BEACH - DAY

Both of the 20 year olds stand on the beach, they are looking out to sea.
They are holding the balls of yarn.

EXT. IN THE SEA - DAY

They walk into the water.
In the deeper water ( waist high ) they dive in, as mermaids. Still holding the balls of yarn between them.

THE END.

MEMORIES OF SUMMER

The lonely lane dwindled through the archway of trees,
Cold grey tarmac, cushioned by autumns golden leaves.
Solitary reflections renewed the memories of summer,
As a bronzed leaf spiralled down to a growth of heather.

Fearless marble lions stood firm unto the hint of winter,
Wrought iron gates reflect grandeur they canst remember.
Roses stood tall waiting for the final summers inspection,
A Crocus lay down and dreamt of a last minute salvation.

The lush green grass flowed, as the tides with the breeze,
A greenhouse fell back, without the slightest hint of ease.
The mansions fallen, now resting on the rich brown earth,
As tree branches stored energy, for their next virgin birth.

ANIMALS KINGDOM

Glowing with magnificence from an age gone by,
Castles standing still, with its footings in the wet,
Although now ruins, its battlements ruled the sky,
Defending a lost treasure, which no one canst get.

The grass now grows, where the knights they trod
Their shiny armour still reflecting the light within,
Their horses in the yard, quietly waiting to be shod,
Dead servants are ready, the tournaments to begin.

Echoes of a time gone by, the lights now blown out,
Proud armour now lining a museum along the road,
The crumbling stable is home, for the solitary goat,
Looking for animals have gone, save a golden toad.
